The CBSO China Tour 2016/17

The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce they will make their debut tour to mainland China at the end of 2016.

This will be the first time the CBSO has visited mainland China since the Orchestra was founded and marks a significant milestone in the history of the CBSO as well as celebrating the close links forged between the West Midlands, the UK and China.

The orchestra’s inaugural tour will feature five concerts in four cities across China at venues including the Guangzhou Opera House, Changsha Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre and the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing.

The China Tour will be conducted by Vassily Sinaisky with James Ehnes as the violin soloist and will take place over the New Year period in December 2016 and January 2017.

The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will be performing five concerts during their debut tour to China across the New Year festivities in December 2016 and January 2017.

The Orchestra will visit four cities across the following dates:

- Friday 30 December 2016, 8.00pm
- Saturday 31 December 2016, 8.00pm
- Sunday 1 January 2017, 7.30pm
- Tuesday 3 January 2017, 7.30pm
- Thursday 5 January 2017, 7.30pm
